Taiwan Alumni E-News vol.012 from the MoE

Ministry of Education (MOE) has held four Resume Writing & Interview Skills Lectures from Feb. 19 to Mar. 8 this year to retain foreign talents. For the third year running, the lectures were organized by the Taiwan Alumni Database Program (TAD), attracting more than 300 foreign students and teachers from over 70 schools in total.

BUI THI NGOC HIEU found her extreme interest in Taiwanese culture through attending her first cultural event held by the Taiwan HostFamily Program. She met her host family, Emily, for the first time and felt the warmth deeply. This program aims to give support and encouragement to the overseas students in Taiwan.

According to statistics, the number of Japanese studying abroad has been decreasing in recent years, with the largest fall being in the numbers studying abroad in Europe and in the US. But the number of Japanese students studying in Taiwan has increased fivefold in the past ten years, and there were more than 10,000 students in 2019.

The inaugural ceremony of Taiwan Foreign Alumni Network (TWN-FAN) was held on Jan 5, with nearly 100 foreign alumni from more than 10 countries attending. After completing their studies, foreign alumni stayed in Taiwan to find work, start a business, and settle down, giving full play to their expertise in each professional field.

MOFA announces the newest adjustments to regulations for foreign nationals entering Taiwan, in line with the continuation of CECC Fall-Winter COVID-19 Prevention Program.
