Taiwan Alumni E-News from MoE. 2020 May

MoE is organizing an alumni association to build a platform for those alumni who had studied and is currently staying in Taiwan to share the experience and information.

If you have studied in Taiwan (including language courses and short-term exchanges), the alumni association welcomes you to join and meet more friends from all over the world!

Responding to an invitation from TIME magazine, President Tsai Ing-wen penned an article entitled "Taiwan: How My Country Prevented a Major Outbreak of COVID-19" to share Taiwan's success in preventing the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) with the international community.

In the wake of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), higher education institutions (HEIs) face many new challenges. In a small span of time, they have become not just sites of learning and intellectual growth but also potential incubators of the new infectious disease.

New immigrants have become the 5th largest ethnic group in Taiwan. To help new immigrants integrate into the society, the Ministry of Education (MoE) not only provides abundant learning resources but also continues to simplify the authentication process of diplomas obtained in the home countries of the immigrants.

Taiwan-Indonesia Collaboration to Promote the "Industry-Academia Collaboration Program for Indonesian 2-year College". 
The first 88 students in the program stated that this opportunity has realized their dreams in life, and they have gained fruitful experience in adapting to the new environment, learning professional knowledge and learning Chinese.

New Language Assistant Exchange Project between the French-Speaking Community of Belgium and Taiwan

Wallonia-Brussels International in Belgium and the MoE of Taiwan signed an exchange agreement on December 25, 2019.
It strengthens education ties and gives Belgian and Taiwanese students an opportunity to discover each other’s country, while working as a language assistant for 9 months.
