FABULOUS TAIWAN

Erik de Jong,  Netherlands  |  National Taiwan University

Trees are a vital part of life and living proof of history. If we could see through the eyes of an ancient green giant in Beidawushan, looking down on the west coast plains, we would witness Formosa’s journey towards becoming Taiwan, as well as the ages to come. During these ages, we would endure typhoons, prolonged droughts, intensified rains, scorching heat, and human activities; but we stood and still stand strong!

This photo series is a homage to the forests of Taiwan, showcasing how its trees beautifully shape the landscape and demonstrate resilience to all our whims. It also serves as a reminder of how fragile all of this truly is.
